Equinex: School of Horsemanship
The Plot
In the year 2001 in a small town in Virginia there was build a riding school that was meant to stand as a pinnacle of horsemanship, and it held its own filling its four, Harry Potter like, houses with riders of all shapes and sizes with the hope of becoming world class riders. For six years, Equinex remained the first and the best riding school the world had ever seen. However, as America’s economy failed so did the majestic Equinex. Slowly, it lost its footing week by week month by month until the school closed all together. Its horses were sold and some were merely set free to run through the countryside.
A year and a half after the closing, a man by the name of Mark Forbes, a man practically unknown by the horse world, purchased the dilapidated verison of Equinex. Its barns now empty, crumbing, its horses lost or wild, standing there in the remains of its glory. Work soon after began and continued for six months; the buildings were repaired, barns stocked even with some of the former Equinex horses. The school was then reopened, in lesser glory, but still open. Former students were welcomed back, and its doors opened to the new and unknown of the riders of the world. Equinex was reborn; however, reminders of the fall still linger with every wild horse spotted around the grounds.
The History
The Harry Potter Books must of made a lasting impression on the world because in the years following their publication schools of all shapes and sizes formed a new type of schooling. Schools divided into houses of various names, even though the names were different the people within them never seemed to change. Those in the two main houses disliked each other, and the other two seemed to get along with everyone. No matter the school that was the way it worked.
During this time the first school of its kind was created: Equinex: School of Horsemanship. The first equestrian riding school divided into houses on American soil. It was decided that from this school would come some of the world's top riders of all types of riding. Students of different backgrounds were soon accepted into the school of Equinex. Some with top resumes, others still getting the hang of life in the saddle. With the dream of greatness, came some of the best riders of America, to teach those who were to follow in the footsteps of the great riders teaching them. Years passed, and Equinex became a huge success. From that news more schools were created modeling off the great Equinex. However, no matter how many school that have been created only one will be the first. Equinex, the greatest riding school in the world.
